Havenwyck Hospital understands that going from inpatient hospitalization back into the “real world” can be a jarring experience. The new coping skills and behaviors learned while hospitalized may be difficult to sustain. Recognizing that many patients require a more gradual re-entry back into their environment, Havenwyck’s Day Hospital Program, designed for children and adolescents ages three to 17 and adults 18 and older, bridges inpatient with outpatient services. It has the dual advantage of maintaining a person in a structured treatment environment while integrating with family, work, school and community.
The Adult Day Hospital and Child/Adolescent Day Hospital programs operate Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a hot lunch provided in the hospital cafeteria. It combines a structured treatment setting, at the core of which is intensive individual, group and family therapies, augmented by recreational and activity therapies. Increased personal responsibility and healthy adoption within the family, work, school and community are the ultimate goals for each patient.
